New sites for April
April 2007
World of Thomas & World of Sodor
eCommerce has been the flavour of the month with a wealth of new sites from Pixelhaus. First cab off the rank is World of Thomas built for the Awdry Family (The creators of Thomas the Tank Engine). World of Thomas sells a comprehensive range of Thomas the tank engine toys, books, DVDs, train sets, home decor and clothing. Best of all, you can have books and DVDs signed by Christopher Awdry himself.
As well as World of Thomas, we've built a companion site called World of Sodor which sells other books (non Thomas) for children written by Christopher Awdry.
Pixelhaus created the original artwork for both sites and were responsible for all product photography too.
Lastly we have built a site about the Awdy Family which answers questions that people may have about Rev W. Awdry, the creator of Thomas the Tank Engine and his son, Christopher who has also written many books himself.
Dirty Dollie
Dirty Dollie sells Shabby Chic accessories and Vintage Homewares. For the uninitiated, the term shabby chic refers to modern items of furniture of homewares that have a 'lived in' look. They sell items for the kitchen, bedroom, living room and out doors too.
The eponymous hero of our site, Dollie, is based on a land army girl and the whole look of the site is 1940s/50s to match the vintage look of the products.
Bijoux Beads
The brand new Bijoux Beads site will be launching soon. we built the original site 3 years ago, but to allow for all the new added features, it was necessary to build a new site from the ground up. You can preview it here.
All of the eCommerce sites featured this month have been built around Actinic's excellent shopping cart system.
Bluestreak Beads
March 2007
We are pleased to announce that Bluestreak Beads has now gone live and is open for business. The design features a floating palette effect plus original photography by Pixelhaus.
Bluestreak Beads, sells a wide range of beads, swarovski crystal, bali silver, findings, jewellery making tools and more.
Wines and Hampers
February 2007
The launch of any new site is always an exciting time but particularly when it for ourselves. Wines and Hampers has been created on conjunction with Tordoffs Ltd, a leading independent wine merchant. We've used our expertise along with their range of wines, hampers, gifts and bouquets to create a great new eCommerce site.
This isn't just a demo site, you can buy any of the great wines, champagnes and gifts for yourself, friends or colleagues. And here at Pixelhaus towers we can personally vouch for the quality of the fare on offer, after a lengthy period of exhaustive testing (hic).
Protx partnership

We are pleased to announce that Pixelhaus Studios have been appointed as a Protx partner. Protx are one of the UK's leading Payment Gateway providers and as such offer internet payment solutions that are second to none at very competitve rates. most importantly, their UK based technical support is the best we have come across.
To apply for their small business service you will require an internet merchant account from one of the high street banks such as Lloyds TSB or Barclays.
International Bellydance Congress 2007

We are delighted to launch our latest site for the International Bellydance Congress 2007 which promises to big the biggest belly dancing knees-up in Europe for next year. All the top dancers and teachers will be there for 3 days of performance, seminars, masterclasses and more.
Pixelhaus have build a highly visual yet accessible site with multiple forms and a shopping cart behind it. The site was launched with an email campaign devised by us and sent to over 5000 individuals. The response to date has far exceeded their expectations with bookings already ahead of schedule. Quay Strings site launch
October 2006
We are pleased to announce the launch of Quay String's website at www.quaystrings.com . Quay Strings are a professional string ensemble made up from members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and they perform throughout the south for all types of function from wedding receptions to corporate events.
The site makes extensive use of original Pixelhaus photography for a very contemporary look and to give the group a distinctive identity and feel.
Archery site goes live

We have just completed our most accessible website ever for an East Dorset archery club, the Bracken Company of Archers. the site makes bold use of images plus has a built-in facility to enlarge and reduce the size of the text in it.

Two new sites to tell you about this month. The first is Compliant UK, a supplier of chiropractic, ergonomic and business productivity related products and services. it is fully eCommerce enabled and is totally search engine friendly.
Secondly, Craft Insurance. If you are either a craftsperson, run any kind of arts or crafts club or association or simply sell craft products at craft fairs, then Craft Insurance offer a bespoke scheme just for you.
No.1 listing on MSN, Yahoo & Google

The website, www.doodlicious.com was built to 'show off' our labradoodle, Bhindi, but also to find homes for Bhindi's puppies and as such the site was coded accordingly.
After only 3 weeks live, we have the top ranking listing for 'labradoodle puppies' on MSN UK search plus a top 5 listing on all the other related search terms. The site also ranks extremely well in Google UK and Yahoo.

New Site for The Glue Factory

The Glue Factory, one of London's leading Prop, Model, Exhibit and interactive display companies have just had their site revamped courtesy of Pixelhaus. The company was born in 2004 out of the former Science Museum modelmaking team and is responsible for making interactive displays for many well known exhibitions such as the recent 'Science of Aliens' plus props and models for numerous film and TV productions.
